UNDERSTANDING THE ICC!!!




Judicial updates in respect to the two presidential candidates before the court.
 Held at old Town hall, in Nakuru Town conducted by Outreach Coordinator for Kenya.

 
 QUERY: Who referred the six Kenyans to the International Criminal Court? Posted by one of the attendant.

ANSWER: The Kenyans are the one who recommended the PEV(post election violence) case to be heard from the Hague(ICC) through their representatives.The Outreach                                              Coordinator for Kenya,Maria Kamara responded!!

 
QUERY: If it happens the two suspects who are also presidential hopeful wins the forthcoming general election,what will be the judgement? Posted by the attendant!

ANSWER: The International Criminal Court cannot determine the Kenya Election whatsoever and Election aftermath can only be dealt by the ICC judges for the two candidates. Kamara replied!!

Thank you for posting a photo taken during my outeach event in Nakuru. Thank u also for your attempt to paraphrase my response to the question. Let me beef it up..
The Rome Statute, the founding treaty that established the ICC does not bar suspects or accused persons from vying for political or electoral seats. It is up to the kenya laws to interpret and addreas questions of eligibility. In any case, the ICC investigates and prosecutes individuals who are most responsible for committing serious crimes, irrespective of whether or not they are sitting or former heads of states, heads of govt. serving minister or MP. No one is exempt or immune from criminal responsibility under the ICC regime.
